Join us on Saturday September 26th at 6:30PM. for a hands-on class that teaches the art and science of creating and caring for your own sourdough starter. We will have lite appetizers and wine or non alcoholic beverages if you prefer. The class will run for an hour and a half. We look forward to meeting you.
You’ll learn how to:
- Mix and begin your own natural starter from scratch
- Feed, store, and troubleshoot your starter
- Understand the rhythm of fermentation and how to keep your wild yeast healthy and happy
- Mix your starter to make dough
- How to use a mixer to build and strengthen gluten.
- Learn when your dough is ready to be shaped.
- learn about cold proofing.
Upon completion of class you’ll leave with:
- A Beautiful jar of your own Calamity Jane–inspired starter to take home
- A ready to refrigerate loaf to bake at home the next day.
- Printed care instructions
- Three different packages of our starters
- A Beautiful jar to mix and store your starter in.
- Aspurtle (for mixing)

Our legendary starter, Calamity Jane, has been the heart of our bread from the start — wild, resilient, and full of character. She’s survived Texas humidity, kitchen experiments, and every loaf that’s come through our doors. Now she’s ready to help you start your own sourdough adventure.
